Get The Look: Nikki Reed New Moon Premiere

Nikki's dress was a beautiful icy pale aqua so we went with really fresh, pretty, feminine makeup.....

For her skin, I started with a very light application of foundation using By Terry's Teint Delectation foundation in # 4 "Golden Praline". By Terry is one of my favorite brands; the foundations have a really luminous quality that is incredibly flattering and they never look greasy or too shimmery.

For blush I used By Terry's Blush Des Thes "Peach Tea", a warm peach liquid blush, just on the apples of her cheeks.

On the eyes I started with a wash of a warm peach eyeshadow on her lid and just up past the crease using Josie Maran's shadow in "Eternity". In the crease I lightly applied the more purple-y color in the NARS duo "Charade" adding a little depth to the eye. Under the lower lashes, in a soft wash, I used a warm matte taupe color called "Oak" by Josie Maran. I wanted a soft line at the lashes and felt that black or brown would be too harsh, so I mixed a plum liner with a bronze liner to get a warm, soft golden-plum color, using Lancome Waterproof liners in "Prune" and "Bronze". I used my favorite taupe liner, called "Stone" by Mineral Fusion, on the inside rim of the eye to add a last touch of depth. Two coats of Lancome's Virtouse inky black mascara, top and bottom, complete the look for the eyes.

I filled in the lips with a cool toned pink liner, RD 702 by Shiseido, and then applied a coat of cool pink gloss using YSL Gloss Pur #48. The liner makes the gloss a bit more opaque and makes it last longer since she would be doing interviews and posing on the red carpet for hours.

Sometimes a makeup artist does double duty and in this case I played manicurist too (I not-so-secretly love painting a nail!) I did 2 coats of Chanel's "Mica Rose" Le Vernis polish, which is a really lovely pink with a bit of twinkle to it, and then did 1 coat of Chanel's "Ballerina" Le Vernis polish over it, to soften the color just a touch. It went perfectly with her dress and shoes.
