Get the Look: Bella Heathcote at the LACMA Art + Gala Event

Bella Heathcote is such a stunning girl.  It's always a pleasure to get to work on her face.  She can really wear makeup, and it's fun to play with her look.  She wore a white Gucci dress to this event and we could have really gone in any direction; strong color on the lip, color on the eyes.... fresh and pretty or killer vamp.  In the end I went for a little of both.  I gave her a bit of a "dolly" look with the eyes and added a warm rosy lip so it was fresh and not washed out.  Her skin is a dream and I love to make it look luminous and glowy.  I do love a fair skinned girl and she is the fairest of them all....

After I moisturized Bella's skin. I used a foundation brush and the Beauty Blender to apply the foundation, applying the product in the center of the face and then blending out towards the edges of the face.  I used a touch of concealer under the eyes and along the bridge of the nose, the luminizing concealer also acts as a soft highlighter.  After setting the foundation with powder, I applied a bit of the bronzer from the Blush Subtil palette under the cheekbones and used the pale pink color as a highlighter.  For the eyes, I swept a metallic taupe shadow on the upper lid just up to the crease and then blended it into the skin so there was no border.  I used the black liner on the upper lid, starting with a thin line on the inner corner of the eye which got progressively thicker toward the outer corners of the eyes, and then smudged a bit of it into the lower lashes under the eyes using a small tapered brush.  I used a metallic grey liner to line the inside of the eyes and very tightly to the lower lashes.  I was going for a "dolly" look with the lashes so I used 3 coats of mascara on the top.  I wanted to use mascara on the lower lashes so there would be definition, but I wanted it to be subtle, so I used a beautiful purple mascara.  I love the way it's a little touch of color that no one really notices but me!  Instead of going with a nude lip, I wanted to use a fresh reddish pink.  So that it wouldn't look too strong or overwhelming, I patted on lip balm first, and then patted on the lip color.  It's a bit more than a stain but less opaque than a lipstick.
